The problem with trauma is that you believe you are 99% made of your rapist. There is only 1% of you left. In reality, however, you are actually 100% yourself. And how sad it is we have been swallowed and sacrificed by a cruel fraction.

This is actually a really good read, no matter what your stance on abortion is!

Text 11 Jun 5 notes oh dear god. tw: domestic abuse

imagepeople really just don’t get it, do they? nobody “lets” the person they love abuse them. Being abused is not a choice, it is not something someone allows or simply “lets happen” to them. In this instance, this individual refers to domestic abuse. Let’s get something straight. NO ONE has the ability to predict what their significant other will do. NO ONE. Maybe that person will end up being the best partner ever, maybe they won’t. Maybe they will be abusive. It is NEVER someone’s fault if they are being abused, and it is never their responsibility to “know” if their partner is going to be an abuser. Maybe people should not be shitty and put the blame where it is deserved: on people who abuse. Oh, and you know, victim-blaming assholes who post shit like this. Anyone who knows anything about domestic violence knows that it isn’t that cut and dry. This is also perpetuates the question “why don’t they just leave?” instead of “why doesn’t their partner stop abusing them?”

should be common sense. This kind of shit infuriates me. And people say rape culture doesn’t exist…
